The Building Sustainable Communities (BSC) grant program fosters thriving sustainable communities. The BSC grant aids non-profits across the constituency and beyond in their development. I had the pleasure to meet with many of these non-profits to inform them of the BSC grant to discuss their projects and how to apply.
Five organizations within the Southdale constituency and two across Winnipeg received funding with my support:
$75,000 to Ready, Set, Go! Work Program to establish their program to train and provide marginalized people with employment.
$48,750 to Saints Peter and Paul Church to repair their roof. $46,830 to Shamrock School PAC to aid in playground development.
$32,567 to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church to repair their roof over the community hall space.
$25,000 to General Vanier PAC to complete the final phase of their accessible playground. Totalling $50,000 provincial BSC funds given for the project.
$16,062.95 to Winakwa Community Centre to install a new electronic sign.
$8,892 to Ecole Guyot PAC to purchase new outdoor classroom infrastructure.
